Veronica "Vern" (Barczykowski) Zakrocki

Veronica "Vern" Zakrocki, 70, of Brentwood Drive, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 7:15 p.m., Thursday, in St. Josephs Medical Center, from natural causes. Mrs. Zakrocki retired in 1987 from Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company as a financial advisor. She was born on Feb. 10, 1926, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident.

On April 26, 1947, in South Bend, as Veronica Barczykowski, she married Chester Chuck Zakrocki, who survives. Also surviving is a sister, Louise Marshall of South Bend; two brothers, Harry Barczykowski and Matthew Barczykowski, both of South Bend; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m., Sunday in St. Joseph Flineral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., South Bend, where a rosary will be recited at 4 p.m., Sunday. Entombment will be in the St. Joseph Mausoleum in St. Joseph Cemetery. Mrs. Zakrocki was a member of the St. Adalbert Rosary Sodality. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Adalbert Church Restoration Flind.
