Alan E. Wyant April 5, 1967 - June 6, 2014 SOUTH BEND - Alan E. Wyant, 47, of South Bend passed away at 11:34 AM on Friday, June 6 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend after a sudden illness. He was born on April 5, 1967, in South Bend to Fred D. and Bonnie L. (Ewing) Wyant, both of whom survive. He has resided in the South Bend area since 2000, after having lived in North Liberty, Indiana.

Alan most recently worked as a salesman at NAPA Auto Parts; however, most of his life he worked as a tool and die designer.

He married the former Jennifer L. Holdread of Edwardsburg on March 31, 2000 at the historic Smith's Chapel. He is survived by his wife, his daughter, Caitlin M., son, Connor W., all of South Bend, and sister, Dana D. (Mike) Joseph of Fishers, Indiana. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Alan was a 1986 graduate of Washington High School. He also graduated from ACME Institute of South Bend.

Mr. Wyant's hobbies included being with family and restoring numerous trucks. He was also a member of the McCulloch Drag Racing Team. He was a true car lover and enjoyed talking on his cell phone with friends. Alan was a dedicated husband and father and will be missed dearly by all who knew him during his life journey.

Visitation hours will be held Wednesday, June 11, from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM at Hanley and Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home located at 23421 State Road 23 / Ireland Road, South Bend. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, June 12, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Reese officiating. Burial is to follow at Crumstown Cemetery, North Liberty, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made for his two young children to the Wyant Family Benefit Fund at 1st Source Bank.
