Dec. 30, 1955 - March 9, 2013 SOUTH BEND - Mrs. Lorna M. (Weaver) Taylor, 57, of South Bend, Indiana, departed from this life on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at 7:00 a.m. in her home after a lengthy illness. She was born on December 30, 1955, to the union of Robert C. and Rosie L. Weaver in South Bend, Indiana.

Lorna received her formal education through the South Bend Community School Corporation, attending Harrison School and then graduating from Washington High School in 1974. She attended Ivy Tech College, and soon after moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

She later moved back to South Bend after her father was hurt on the job and was paralyzed. On September 26, 1987, she married Walter C. Taylor. To this union one daughter was born. Lorna worked for Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center until two years ago when she could no longer work due to her health. Lorna was a sweet and quiet person who gave of herself even when she was sick. She loved her daughter and grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memories are her mother, Rosie L. Weaver; her husband, Walter C. Taylor; one daughter, Lakesha Taylor [Kareem Christian]; one sister, Sharon D. Weaver; four grandchildren, DaeSharra, Demetrice, Dre'Shan and DaiMarion; two great-grandchildren, Sa'Niya and Timirah; four aunts, Norma Wilson of Indianapolis, Indiana, Karleen Weaver and Kathleen Morgan, both of Kokomo, Indiana, and Jessie Butler of South Bend; two uncles, Henry Butler of Indianapolis, Indiana, and William Butler of South Bend, Indiana; one sister-in-law, Hazel Taylor of South Bend; three brothers-in-law, Thomas Taylor and Alvin Taylor, both of Texas, and Charles Benion of South Bend; one special daughter, Nyteria Green; one special brother, William (Emily) Tiddick; two special sisters, Jill Green of Atlanta and Carita Tarmorh of California; many nieces and nephews. She also leaves special friends, Madelyn, Jackie and Janice.

Lorna was preceded in death by her father, Robert C. Weaver; two brothers, Tyrone Weaver and Robert C. Weaver Jr.; and one son at birth, Terrance Lamont. Special thanks to Dr. Ansari and his staff; the staff of Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center; I.U. of Indianapolis; I.U. Simon Cancer Center of Indianapolis; The Harrison Family; Hospice and Palliative Care.

Funeral services for Lorna M. Taylor will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013, in Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 137 E. Indiana Avenue. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and service at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Mishawaka Fairview Cemetery. Visit www.clarkoneal.com to sign her guestbook.
