Minister Dennis Lamar Patton Sr. born March 20, 1957, departed this life May 12, 2021, in his home with his wife and children. Dennis was a devoted husband, loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Dennis was born to the late Frederick Louis Patton Sr. and Thelma Louise Patton in South Bend, Indiana. Dennis attended South Bend Schools and was a graduate of the class of 1976 Washington High School Panthers. Dennis also attended Bethel College. Dennis was an outstanding athlete and played many sports including basketball, baseball, and flag football. Dennis's love for these sports also drove him to coach them as well. Dennis was employed by the South Bend Community School Corporation for many years and later retired from Panzica Corporation. Dennis was loved by many and never met a stranger.

Dennis accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of New Testament M.B.C. Dennis was called into the ministry in 2012, where he gave his first sermon titled, “If Life Caves In, Then What?” Philippians 4:13. Dennis's favorite song was “This Little Light of Mine” and he let his light shine for all to see the goodness of the Lord.

Dennis leaves to mourn his passing, the love of his life, Glenda (Alexander) Patton; his mother, Thelma Patton; one son, Dennis (Amelia) Patton Jr.; three daughters: Aisha (William) Avance, LaKeisha Alexander, and Turquoise Patton all of South Bend, Indiana; 10 grandchildren: Qualyshia Alexander, Miquan Patton-Martin, Malik Patton-Martin, all of Little Rock, Arkansas, David Stuckey, Davi’ Stuckey, Michae Martin, ‘Ennis Patton, Zachary Patton, Dennis Patton III, and Annalyse Patton, all of South Bend, Indiana; two sisters: Robin Weymon and Bridgett Patton of Denver, Colorado; three brothers: Frederick Patton, Marcus (Sonjia) Patton of Denver, Colorado, and Perry (Angie) Patton of South Bend, Indiana; three sisters-in-law: Joan (Johnny) McChriston of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Kathy Stewart of South Bend, Indiana, and Clotine (Dough) Williams of Arlington, Texas; two brothers-in-law: Michael Stewart of South Bend, Indiana and Bruce Coleman of Salt Lake City, Utah; mother-in-law, Barbara (Andrew) Murdock of South Bend, Indiana; one aunt, Leona Fleming; one uncle, Esau Parker; two goddaughters: Cheneka Anderson, and Chantal Akins; special sons: Ramond Jacobs, Keri Foster, DeShon Marsh, Marion Marsh, William Pollard, and Jamie Akin; special nephew, Tyrone Garrett; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Preceding him in death, granddaughter, ShareitaPatton; sister, Thellisa Patton; two brothers: Frederick Patton Jr. and Curtis Patton; father, Frederick Patton Sr.; stepmother, Charlotte Patton; grandparents: Claude and Mildred Bennett, Vivian Eloise Turley Williams, Rev. Luther Turley; an aunt, Belle Marie Parker; uncles: Tifford Patton, JoLee Whiten, and Jesse Whiten.

Minister Dennis Patton fought a good fight, and he kept the faith. His trust and love in the Lord never wavered. He showed us that “You Can Rise Again” Matthew 28:6.
