PAULETTE WILLIAMS-MAKIELSKI

Paulette M. Williams-Makielski, beloved daughter, sister and mother, 39, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on Saturday morning, July 22, 2006, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend, after a very brave and courageous battle with cancer. Paulette was born on February 6, 1967, in South Bend, to the proud parents of Richard L.. Sr. and Louise M. Williams, and was a lifelong area resident.

In 1985, she graduated from Washington High School, South Bend.

Paulette leaves behind a son, Chad Makielski of Mishawaka, Indiana; a daughter, Christine Makielski of South Bend; her mother, Louise M. Williams of South Bend; two sisters, DeAnne M. (Jim) Green of Mishawaka and Michelle Elkins, whereabouts unknown; a brother, Richard L. "Dickie" (Lora) Williams, Jr. of South Bend; and by five nieces.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard L. Williams, Sr.,

in 2004. Paulette worked for St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, as a health aid worker at Emmons School, Healthy Families and a former employee at Oscos on Bittersweet Rd. She lived life to the fullest and never complained, cried, or asked "why me?" about her cancer. She loved children, gardening and her favorite shows (I Love Lucy, Gilligans Island and Spongebob Squarepants cartoons). She had a great sense of humor. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and loved ones. She touched the lives and hearts of many people she worked with and met. She was a very hard worker, working two jobs at once to support her children. Paulette loved her children with all her heart and did everything and anything to provide for them.

A memorial service for Paulette will be held at 6 PM Friday, July 28, 2006, in the Kaniewski Funeral Chapel, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where friends may visit for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christine Makielski Trust Fund, c/o any 1st Source Bank. The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Method for working so hard to keep Paulette with us as long as was possible. Also, the staff at oncology for taking care of her and thanks to all those at Emmons School and Healthy Families for their caring, concern and support as she fought through this difficult illness, she appreciated it so much.
