ALVINA L. BOYDEN
March 23, 1959 - July 20, 2011
SOUTH BEND - Alvina Louise Boyden, 52, of South Bend passed away at 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 in Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana. Alvina was born on March 23, 1959 in South Bend to the late Lewis Sr. and Gloria (Gulley) Boyden.
She graduated from Washington High School in 1978 and attended Andrews University, in Berrien Springs, Michigan.
She worked for various organizations in telemarketing and daycare. She enjoyed bowling, listening to music and spending time with friends and family. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Rose- land Congregation.
Survivors left to cherish her memory include five sisters: Valeria Jordan of Washington D.C., Gail Boyden of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Carmen Boyden, Letha Boyden, and Roxie Boyden, all of South Bend; two brothers Lewis (Janie) Boyden II of Granger, Indiana, and Jacob (Mary) Boyden of Indianapolis, Indiana. Alvina also leaves to mourn a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a special friend, Lynn Wittenbrink of Litchfield, Connecticut.
Alvina was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis W. Sr. and Gloria D. Boyden.
Special thanks to Dr. Robin Zon, MD and staff at Michiana Hematology Oncology, and to the staff at West Bend Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Alvina was truly loved and will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Services will be held on Monday, July 25, 2011 in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Rose- land Congregation, 26807 US Highway 20. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and then services at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be mailed to: American Cancer Society, P.O.
