SOUTH BEND - Sam Austin, 48, of Beaver Dam, AZ, passed in peacefully in his sleep January 27, after a long living illness. He is survived by his father, Arnold, of Oregon; a sister, Cindy (Keyser) of Mishawaka; two brothers, Robert of Reno, Nv and Roy of Oregon; his girlfriend, Valerie Craycraft of Texas; along with many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews .

He was very loved by his family and friends and will be missed very much. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen (Parker).

Sam grew up in the South Bend area and graduated from Washington High school in 1978.

He moved to Las Vegas in 1984 and then later to Beaver Damn, AZ, for a quieter lifestyle. One of Sam's most loved things to do in the area is tubing down the Dowagiac River. This is the way that all that knew him will always remember Sam.

A quite service was held Wednesday February 6, in Beaver Dam AZ. He was buried at Beaver Dam cemetery. The service was arranged by Metcalf Mortuary, Mesquite, NV.
