SOUTH BEND - Ronald Alan Simmons, 44, of South Bend, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 27, 2010. He was born on April 8, 1966, in South Bend, to Robert A. and Geraldine (Ludwikowski) Simmons.

He is survived by his former wife, Denise (Lubelski) Simmons, and their children: daughters, Mia and Megan, and sons, Matthew and Mitchell, all of South Bend; his father, Robert Simmons, and brother, Greg (Susan) Simmons, both of Bloomington, IN; and by a niece, McKenna.

Ron graduated from Holy Family Catholic Grade School and Washington High School.

He majored in history at IU Bloomington. Ron was passionate about history, was a Civil War re-enactor, and loved to paint Napoleonic figurines.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, December 3, 2010, in Corpus Christi Catholic Church, where friends may visit from one hour prior to the Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. To send online condolences, please visit www.kaniewski.com.
