Adrian Griffin

ADRIAN D. GRIFFIN

Aug. 28, 1966 - Jan. 26, 2009
SOUTH BEND - Adrian Damon Griffin, 42, was born August 28, 1966, in South Bend. He was adopted and raised by his loving great-grandparents, Jessie and Corine Griffin. At an early age Adrian confessed his love for the Lord and let it be known by sharing his wisdom and God-given musical talent with others all over the world. He was a member of the New Wings of Faith Church where Willie Coats Jr. is the senior pastor.

Adrian attended Harrison Elementary School and was a graduate of Washington High School in South Bend. Later he attended Wilberforce College in Wilberforce, Ohio, and went on to serve his country on active duty with the U.S. Army at Fort Jackson, Columbia, SC, where he was given an honorable discharge.

While in the service he developed skills in the field of telecommunications and used his musical talents to entertain the troops. Known as "Go-Getter," Adrian's dedication, perseverance and entrepreneurship led him to become a successful personal health trainer. In 2006 he launched a successful fitness equipment store in Elkhart at Concord Mall. As his patented idea bloomed he then expanded to an online business to meet the demands of the customers all over the world. Adrian was a bright and aspiring young man seeking his place in the world of business. Until January 26, 2009, his visions for the future ended when he departed this life to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He leaves to cherish his memory his great-grandmother, Corine Griffin of South Bend; the love of his life, Angela Ingram (affectionately known as "Honey-Babe") of Cincinnati, OH; his biological mother, Doris Battles of Texas; his biological father, Parnell Lane of South Bend; his sisters, Marilynn Davis of South Bend and Shanna of Texas; his brothers, Jesse Griffin of South Bend, Ben of Chicago and Roshard of Texas; his godsisters, Barbara Lawson and Patricia (Gilbert) Williams of South Bend; his godbrother, James (Ingrid) Harris of South Bend; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and close friends. Preceding him in death were his great-grandfather, Jessie Griffin; an uncle, Gilbert Price of South Bend; a grandmother, Melvina Price; his sister, Carolyn Griffin; and his godparents, Oddie and Hattie Harris.

Rest in Peace You are not forgotten Adrian. Nor will you ever be. As long as life and memory last we will remember you. We will miss you now, our hearts are sore. As time goes by, we miss you more, your loving smile your gentle face, and no one can fill your vacant place. So sleep now brother for your time has come Sleep with no worries, one day again you'll see the sun Sleep peacefully in our hearts you'll stay Sleep now brother cause soon you'll fly away. "God will wipe away every tear from their eyes." Revelation 21:4
