William Paul Janiszewski

February 10, 1964 ~ May 27, 2023 (age 59)

William P. Janiszewski, affectionately known as Billy, passed away on May 27, 2023, in his hometown of South Bend, IN. Born on February 10, 1964, to Quinn P. and Luella I. (Disbrow) Janiszewski, Billy lived a life full of laughter, love, and adventure.

Billy was a proud graduate of Washington High School and went on to work in the landscaping industry, where he was known for his hard work and dedication. He was a beloved member of the South Bend community and will be remembered for his infectious sense of humor and the joy he brought to those around him.

Billy is survived by his better half, Tracy Lisenko of South Bend; his cherished daughter, Victoria (Cyle Warner) Janiszewski of Mishawaka, his loving stepson, Joseph Lisenko; and his caring sister, Penny (Ronald) Starnes of South Bend. He was also a proud uncle to his niece, Amanda (Rebecca) Storozuk of Clermont, FL, and nephew, Jordan (Camille) Starnes of South Bend. Billy was blessed with a close-knit extended family, including his Godmother, Aunt Marsha Wesolowski, Godfather, Michael Klaybor, cousin, Kerry Ring, and dear friends, Rob Bales and Ed Velez. His loyal dog, GusGus, will miss him dearly.

Known as "Wild Bill," Billy was the life of the party and enjoyed a good time with friends and family. He had a passion for fishing and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs. Billy's love for sports was only matched by his love for storytelling, as he had a unique way of spinning tall tales that left everyone in stitches. Let’s not forget the high dive he was famous for!

Billy's sense of humor and fun-loving nature made him a joy to be around, and he will be remembered for his ability to light up a room with laughter. His friends and family will cherish the memories they shared with him, from fishing trips to cheering on his favorite sports teams.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Frank Murphy and the entire 6th floor Oncology Unit at St. Joseph Reginal Medical Center and the Center for Hospice for the extraordinary care they gave to Billy.

As we remember and celebrate the life of William "Billy" Janiszewski, we are reminded of the laughter, love, and joy he brought to all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the South Bend community. Rest in peace, Wild Bill.
