SOUTH BEND - Rita passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013, in her home. Rita was born on March 29, 1955, to Richard and Gladys (Bieganski) Wrobel. She is survived by four sisters, Diana (Mike) Martin, Pattie Wrobel, Janice (Patrick) Holdeman and Chris Nemeth; a brother, Daniel (Mary) Wrobel; and a sister-in-law, Pamela Wrobel.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard W. Wrobel; a brother, Richard D. Wrobel; her grandparents, Anna and Peter Wrobel, and Stella and Ignatius Bieganski; and her aunt, Sister M. Arthur.

Rita leaves behind many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Rita was a member of St. Adalbert Catholic Church.

She graduated from Washington High School in 1973.

Rita worked at AM General. She acquired all her office skills through continuing education and on-the-job training. Her most favorite skill was shorthand. To her shorthand was the lost art of writing. She was an avid cook and carried on the traditions of Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve of family dinners. Rita was a very giving person and kept herself busy taking care of the elderly in her neighborhood. She dearly loved her two cats and fed the stray cats outside. Rita will be truly missed by her family, friends and neighbors.

Visitation will be from 2-4 & 5-8 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana, where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2013, in St. Adalbert Catholic Church, where friends may call one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice. To sign the guestbook online, please visit Kaniewski.com.
