LAWRENCE E. HARRISON

SOUTH BEND - Jesse J. Harrison Sr. and Ruby Jo Harrison were blessed on November 14, 1954, to have a baby boy who they named Lawrence Edward Harrison (Bro. Rapp). Lawrence began his life on Chicago Street in South Bend.

He attended Harrison Elementary School and graduated from Washington High School in 1973. In February 1974 he joined the United States Air Force and served until July 21, 1975.

The Lord then blessed him with four lovely children. He worked as a laborer. His hobbies included fishing, cooking, basketball, football, music and spending time with his family and friends. He left to be with the Father on Thursday, Sept. 20, at 6:50 a.m. from leukemia with which he had battled for five years.

He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Ruby Jo Harrison of South Bend; a son, Aaron (Cynthia) Howard of Fort Worth, TX; daughters, Shanika (Poo) Harrison, Lanisha (Punkin) Harrison, both of South Bend, and Shareese (PeeWee) Harrison of Indianapolis; brothers, Charles Harrison, Casey (Debra) Harrison, Lonnie Harrison and Jesse (Debra) Harrison Jr., all of South Bend; sisters, Delores Harrison of Mishawaka and Marla Harrison of South Bend; nine grandchildren; godchildren, Deja Walker and Miguel Smith of South Bend, Linda Harrison of Mishawaka; Albert Hodges, brother-in-law of Elkhart; a special friend, Vanessa Hill of South Bend; a take-charge Angel, Shelaine Mackey; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Harrison Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Lawrence Edward Harrison will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, in New Horizon Outreach Ministry, with burial following at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will occur from noon to 1 p.m. in the church.
