TOKYO, JAPAN - Thomas (Tom) Anthony Pica, 52, lost his battle with cancer on Monday, February 1, 2016, at the Hospice Center in Tokyo, Japan.

Thomas was born June 6, 1963, to Peter and Bonnie (Cronkhite) Pica in South Bend, Indiana. On August 1, 2014 he married Sayaka Hayashi in Tokyo, Japan. Surviving Tom are his wife, Sayaka, his parents, sister, Nancy (Fred) Renken of Boulder, Colorado, and his brother, James (Maryann) Pica of Dayton, Ohio.

Tom taught English in Japan for many years. He taught, as a volunteer at the Elizabeth Saunders Home in Kanagawa, Japan. Tom had a wealth of innovative ideas pertaining to his interests. He created lots of warm surprises for his wife, students, friends and clients. Tom worked with many clients in many countries via Skype. Tom was also artistic, loved music, movies, making short films and playing the guitar. Tom was a graduate of Washington High School and IUSB in South Bend. Services will take place in Tokyo, Japan.

Kenneth Valentine (1981)

I was real sad to hear Tom passed away. He was a real cool guy with a great attitude. And man, could he ever play the Guitar.
