Henry S. Taberski

Henry S. Taberski, 86, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 in the Elkhart Hospice House.

Henry was born July 22, 1929 in South Bend, to the late Henry and Florence (Barczykowski) Taberski. On May 14, 1955 in St. Casimir Catholic Church, Henry was married for 57 years to Lorraine (Odynski) Taberski, she preceded him in death on November 27, 2012. Henry was also preceded in death by sister, Eleanore (Peter) Brennan; and brother, Frank Taberski and brother-in-law, James Ornat.

Survivors of Henry include his children, Marcia (Greg) Ringler, Gail (Jack) Blanchard and Philip (Kim) Taberski; sister, Loretta Taberski; step-grandchildren, Angie (Brad) Murphy, Eric (Danielle) Byrum; five step-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Christine Ornat; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Henry honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post #357. He was an altar boy at St. Adalbert Catholic Church and parishioner of St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr Catholic Church. Henry worked at the family business, Taberski Brothers Meat Market for many years. He enjoyed listening to music especially Polka music and playing Euchre. Henry was a great conversationalist and had a wonderful sense of humor.

Visitation is 10am-12pm on Monday April 4, 2016, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. A Funeral Ceremony will begin at 12pm in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Hospice Foundation, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
