SOUTH BEND — Melvin P. Klosowski, 63, of Poland Street, died at 8:45 pm. Saturday in Meridian Nursing Center-Cardinal, alter an illness. Mr. Klosowski retired in 1991 from AM General Corp. He was born Aug. 27, 1929, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

He is survived by a sister, Lorraine Berzai of South Bend; and two brothers, Richard and James, both of South Bend.

He was a veteran of World War II, and a member of Polish National Alliance Lodge 83, the PNA Fisherman Club and American Legion Pulaski Post 357. He served on the board of directors of the PNA.

Services will be at 10 am. Wednesday in St. Adalbert's Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Society of St. Joseph County.
