SOUTH BEND - Ervin Kaczynski, 88, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 in Hospice House. Ervin was born June 11, 1929 in South Bend to the late Stanley and Stephanie (Iwaniec) Kaczynski. Ervin was preceded in death by brothers, Leonard and Stanley and sister, Helen.

On May 29, 1954, in St. Casimir's, Ervin married Joan (Milewski) Kaczynski. Survivors include children, Philip (Sharol), David (Michele), Kris (Jennifer), and Lisa (Robert) Wilcox; brother, Eugene (Marlene) Kaczynski; grandchildren, Lea, Caitlin, Mitch (Mallory), Theresa, Stephany, Samantha, Nicole, Laura, Mary and Christian, Katie (Patrick), Kristin (Jason), John, Elijah, Annie, Henry, Charlotte, Vivienne, and Alice; great-granddaughter, Harley, and many nieces and nephews.

Ervin honorably served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Casimir's Catholic Church Ushers and Seniors Club. Ervin retired from Nabisco, Ridge Company, and Last Stop Liquor Store. He was proud of his Polish heritage, loved attending his grandchildren's activities, and enjoyed a “good cigar”.

Visitation for Ervin will be 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, January 16, 2018 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., South Bend with a Rosary to be prayed at 4:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, January 17, 2018 in the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Casimir's Parish or Center for Hospice.
