SOUTH BEND — Louis M. Treber, 71, of Pear Road, died at 2:10 p.m. Saturday in his home. Mr. Treber retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1984 as a mail carrier. He was born Sept. 26, 1921, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

On June 14, 1947, in South Bend, he married Clara V. Kulwicki. She survives with a daughter, Darlene Mikulak of South Bend; a son, James of South Bend; five grandchildren; a sister, Irene Sailer of Texas; and a brother, Steve Treber of South Bend. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka of Terre Coupe, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 6, and American I.egion Post 284.

He was an Army veteran of World War II. 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 8 am. until services in St. Joseph Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
