Anthony J. Starzynski Sr.

SOUTH BEND — Anthony J. Starzynski Sr., 70, of S. Phillipa Street. died at 9:15 a.m. Thursday in Memorial Hospital. Mr. Starzynski retired from the South Bend Community School Corp. and was a former employee of the A & B Skinner Co.

He was born May 25, 1921, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. On July 5, 1947, in South Bend, he married Dorothy J. Hoffman. He survives with two daughters, Mary Kay Starzynski of Washington and Ann Speirs of Salt Lake City; two sons, Anthony Jr. of Dallas and Thomas of South Bend; three grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Sullivan of South Bend He was a veteran of World War II, member and past commander of American Legion Pulaski Post 357, and past manager of their baseball team. 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Adalbert's Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and $ to 9 p.m. today in St. Joseph Funeral Borne, where a parish rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Hospital.
