Mary C. (Ramenda) Wilson

SOUTH BEND - Mary C. Wilson, 91, passed away at 7:05 pm Tuesday, February 5, 2013 in St. Joseph Regional Hospital. Mary was born July 12, 1921 in Bertrand, MI to the late John & Elizabeth (Holcman) Ramenda. On February 7, 1948 Mary married Jack Wilson; he preceded her in death on December 26, 1968. Mary is also preceded in death by her sisters, Pauline Casper, Louise Szabo, and Helen Sokol; and brothers, Frank, Stanley and Walter Ramenda.

Survivors of Mary include her sisters, Stephanie (Ollie) Kuzmicz of Mishawaka and Phyllis Bognar of South Bend; granddaughter, Jackie Theriault of Poway, CA, and several nieces and nephews.

Mary honorably served her country in the United States Navy; she retired in 1987 from Bob Rans Wholesale after 38 years of service. She was a lifetime parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic Church, and a member of the American Legion #284, WAVES National, and W.I.M.S.A. and the Tidal Waves. Mary was also a member of the Bowlers Country Club and Z.B. Falcons. Mary enjoyed golfing, bowling, reading, and going to the movies.

Visitation for Mary will be 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Sunday, February 10, 2013 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11:00 am Monday, February 11, 2013, with a 1 hour visitation prior to the service, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park Cemetery, Granger, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society or St. Adalbert Catholic Church.
