Evelyn D. (Danch) Szucs

SOUTH BEND - Evelyn D. Szucs, 98, found the gate to Heaven on Monday, March 22, 2021. She was born February 27, 1923 in South Bend, IN to the late Michael and Theresa Danch. Evelyn was preceded in death by her brothers Alfred, Elmer, and Mike Danch as well as sister, Elsie Horvath. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph G. Szucs and her daughter Judie D. Geyer. She is survived by her children Joe (Sally) Szucs Jr., Mike (Cindy) Szucs, Cyndi Szucs and Patrick (Sharon) Szucs. Evelyn was the most amazing grandma to 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Evelyn lived 98 remarkable years. The greatest legacy she leaves is the unbelievably happy memories that cannot be summarized in a handful of words. She will never be gone, for the lessons that she has taught us will remain with us always. Her songs, her sayings, her recipes - there quite possibly was nothing that she didn't know how to do, no problem she couldn't solve, no heart she couldn't mend.

The family would like to thank Risa Steinkraus, and the amazing staff at Caring Junction, Tina Zimmerman at the Center for Hospice Care and her exercise partner and biggest fan Rian Hutamy, for attending to her health and happiness. Evelyn's life will be celebrated in a private family service at Highland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a contribution to a charity of your choice in her honor.
