MISHAWAKA — Steve M. Csakany, 69, of W. Ninth Street and Corey Lake, Three Rivers, died at 3:06 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Hospital. Mr. Csakany was employed by the Studebaker Corp. and retired in 1980 from United Beverage, South Bend. He was born Jan. 20, 1922, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident.

On June 7, 1947, in Mishawaka, he marred Bernice D. DeWitte. She survives with a son, David S. of Osceola; two grandchildren; a sister, Helen Chiszar of South Bend; a half-sister, Mary Perkins of South Bend; and a half-brother, Michael Fodroci of South Bend

He was a veteran of World War II.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Bavo's Catholic Church. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Hahn-DeVos Funeral Home, where a wake prayer service will be at 3:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Diabetes Association.
