Isabelle Rose (Balint) Michael

MISHAWAKA - Isabelle R. Michael, 88, of Mishawaka, passed away of natural causes on Friday, October 21st, in the Sanctuary at Holy Cross in South Bend. Isabelle was born on November 26, 1922, in Fairview, MN, to the late Frank and Francis (Haszillo) Balint. On November 10, 1945, she married Leo C. Michael, who preceded her in death by 19 hours, also of natural causes.

Isabelle worked as the head cook for Inglewood United School District, retiring in 1982 after 20 years of service. She was a member of a square dance club in Oregon.

Isabelle is survived by a granddaughter, Lauren Michael, a daughter-in-law, Debra Westra, both of Redondo Beach, CA. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, including two very special nephews, Ralph Takach of Mishawaka and Richard (Nancy) Takach of South Bend. Isabelle was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Michael; and siblings, James Balint, Frank Balint, John Balint and Mary Takach.

Friends may visit with the family from 4 until 8 pm today, October 24th, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place in Little Flower Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 25th, at 11 am, where friends will be received one hour prior. A private family burial will take place at a later date at Sacred Heart Cemetery in South Bend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Harbor Light Hospice or to Little Flower Catholic Church.
