Paulette Kay (Piechocki) Hayes
May 8, 1954 ~ May 8, 2023 (age 69)
Paulette Kay Hayes, 69, of Canton, Georgia passed away peacefully on her birthday, May 8, 2023. Paulette was born in 1954 to the late Alfred and Catherine Piechocki in South Bend. Also preceding her in death were the love of her life, David Hayes, a brother, Gregory Piechocki, an infant sister, Theresa Rose, along with nephews, Gregory Piechocki and Joshua Piechocki.
Paulette is survived by her sisters, Maria (Roger) Nawrot of South Bend, Christine (Roger) Wesley of Nebo, North Carolina, and a brother, Michael (Kelli) Piechocki of Indianapolis. She is also survived by three step-daughters, Heather (Charlie) Stanfield, Haley (Colin) Sutton, and Ansley (Kyle) Davenport along with their children, all of Georgia. Also left to cherish her memory are her nephew, Jeffrey (Julie) Piechocki, nieces, Jill Becker, Leigh Ann (Bradley) Lunz, Courtney (Nick) Hintz, Jaclyn (Adam) Main, along with their children, a dear aunt, Rosemary Metz, and many cousins.
Paulette loved to travel to many Caribbean Islands and Australia to visit dear friends. She was a talented scrapbooker and crafter. She loved to read as this was her main pastime in her later years. Paulette was a cat-lover and held a special place in her heart for Maxwell.
The family would like to express a special thank you to her wonderful neighbor, Nancy Matthews for being so willing to assist Paulette and us on numerous occasions.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 with visitation from 10:00am-11:00am and a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 11:00am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 56405 Mayflower Rd., South Bend, IN 46619. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
Memorial Contributions may be directed to the Monastery of the Poor Clares, 1175 N. 300 W, Kokomo, IN 46901, or the St. Vincent DePaul Society at Holy Family Catholic Church, 56905 Mayflower Rd., South Bend, IN 46619.
