Robert Eugene Stephenson

Dec. 21, 1950 - Apr. 3, 2011

MISHAWAKA - The first son of Robert and Bessie Stephenson, Bob was an eight-year veteran of the United States Marine Corps. After leaving the Marines, Bob went to work for Heritage Cablevision in Mishawaka, Indiana. He was very proud of the over 32 years he worked with the cable company as it changed hands, finally becoming Comcast. He was in his element working as a headend engineer, devising and maintaining the complex network that covered most of Berrien County. Bob was a Nerd of the first degree. Holding both a General Radiotelephone Operator License and an Amateur Radio License, he was able to operate his many ham radios which allowed him to talk to people around the world. Another joy of his was everything to do with computers. He built computers from scratch, set up web pages for several organizations, and even hosted web servers from his home. Camping, fishing, and shooting video of his many grandchildren playing sports were where you would find Bob spending his free time.

Surviving Bob are his father, Robert; his loving wife, Wendie; four daughters, Maya (Rich) Rudowske, Jennifer (Mark) McClaran, Brandy (Jason) Rehmel and Trisha (Joe) Fazi; a son, Al (Kasey) Lemmon; and 12 grandchildren. Survivors also include his brother, Earl Stephenson, and sister, Roseanna Stephenson. Bob died peacefully in his sleep.
