CHARLES K. "SKIP" SMELTZER

Smeltzer May 20, 1950 - Nov. 16, 2009 DEMOTTE - Charles Kevin "Skip" Smeltzer, age 59, of DeMotte, IN passed away suddenly on Monday November 16, 2009 in Palos Heights, IL. Skip was born on May 20, 1950 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Keith Albert and Waneta nee Brewer. On September 17, 1977 in Muncie, IN Skip married Marlene nee Park Smeltzer. Skip has been a resident of DeMotte, IN since 1984. He had previously lived in Muncie and South Bend, Indiana.

Skip Graduated Washington High School in South Bend, IN class of 1969 He received his Bachelors Degree in business administration from Ball State University in 1973.

He was a Sales Rep for 30 years. He currently was employed by North Star Dairy Rich Merrillville, IN. He had previously worked for Fair Oaks Farms and for many years he was employed by Roundy's Frozen Food Division Redi-Froz South Bend IN. He was a member of The First Brethren Church South Bend, IN and Delta Chi Fraternity Ball State University.

Skip is survived by, His loving wife, Marlene nee Park Smeltzer; two sons, Aaron Smeltzer of Tell City, IN and Ryan Smeltzer of Terre Haute, IN; a sister, Barbara Hagey of Nokomis, FL; and a brother Robert Hagey, Raleigh, NC; one niece Holly ( Justin) Helmig and one great-nephew Ashton Helmig all of Raleigh, NC; a brother in law Ron Park of Brownsburg, IN.

Skip is preceded by, His mother Waneta nee Brewer Smeltzer and his father Keith Albert Smeltzer.

Friends may call Saturday November 21, 2009 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM CST at Jackson Funeral Service of DeMotte. Funeral Services will be held at Jackson Funeral Service of DeMotte at 2:00 PM CST on Saturday November 21, 2009 with Rev. Lary Sakel officiating. To respect Skip's wishes cremation will follow.
