Paul A. O'Hara March 5, 1951 - April 20, 2015 ELKHART - Paul A. O'Hara, 64, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2015, at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born March 5, 1951, in South Bend, to William G. and Betty J. (Potter) O'Hara. Surviving are his wife, Frances O'Hara of Elkhart; 1 daughter, Candace (Andy) Peregrine of Loreno, TX; 1 stepson, Paul Taylor Jr. of Grand Prairie, TX; 1 step-daughter, Tonda (Robert) Hines of Elkhart; 3 brothers, Chuck (Isabelle) Hackler of Clinton Township, MI, Tom (Connie) O'Hara of Milwaukee, WI, and Tim (Jeane) O'Hara of Elkhart; 1 sister, Barbara (Michael) Erhardt of Osceola; 13 grandchildren, Andi, Lily, Gabe and Lilah Peregrine, Nakara (Yarrum) Murray, Todd L. Johnson II, Rotony (Diamond) Hines, Camille Marion, Xavier, Michael, Miranda, Raven and Rikki Taylor; 3 great-grand-children, Micaiah Murray, Yar'maria Murray and TreVaun Ulmer; nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 brother, William "Bill" O'Hara.

Paul was a 1969 graduate of Washington High School.

He began his working career at Dodge Foundry in South Bend, was later employed at Bendix, and later was the owner and operator of Candy Car Corner in Elkhart prior to working at Elkhart Community Schools. Paul was an avid golfer and hunter, who especially liked spending time with his family and friends more than anything. He would often volunteer his time at the Faith Mission. He enjoyed dining out and was an avid believer in tipping well.

The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the 12 noon celebration of life service on Saturday, April 25th, at Agape Missionary Baptist Church, 248 W. Wolf Ave., Elkhart. Pastor Dannell Brown will officiate. Burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin Street, Elkhart, is entrusted with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the United Cancer Services of Elkhart County in memory of Paul.
