James Allen "Coach" Neuliep

Apr. 27, 1951 - Jun. 22, 2007

 

NEULIEP James A. Neuliep, ""Coach'', died on Friday, June 22, 2007 after a stroke at the age of 56. James was born in Valparaiso, IN and raised in South Bend, Indiana, he attended Indiana University on an Evans Scholarship and graduated with a BS in Chemistry and Biology. He received his teaching credentials at Georgia Tech U. For over 30 years, he has taught science, chemistry, and lab technology in the Jefferson Parish School System, most recently at East Jefferson. Over the years, he coached boys' wrestling, girls' basketball, girls' track and field, and girls' cross country. He loved motorcycles, atheletics, and hunting dogs.

A beloved husband, father, friend, teacher, and coach, he is survived by wife Barbara Siede; and daughters: Lindsay Neuliep and Alison Neuliep of River Ridge, LA; parents: Norma and Frederick Neuliep of South Bend, Indiana; brothers: Steven Neuliep of Asheville, NC and Jack Neuliep of Chesterton, IN; and sister, Sandy Freeman of Dallas, TX.

His memorial will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 4:00 pm at All Saints' Episcopal Church, 100 Rex Drive, River Ridge, LA. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made during July to the James A. Neuliep Athletic Scholarship Fund to be administered by Jefferson Dollars for Scholars.
