JACK L. BLUE

BLUE JACK L. BLUE, 59, died Monday evening in the Hospice Care Center after a two-year battle with cancer. Jack had worked for 13 years as a production supervisor at Q-Lab Corporation in Westlake after moving to Ohio. Prior to that, he had worked for 18 years at Bendix/Allied-Signal/Honeywell, in South Bend, Indiana as a materials planner for their energy controls division. J

ack was born on January 8, 1951 in South Bend, Indiana. On May 20, 1972, he married Karen Searfoss. She survives along with a son, Kyle (Tara) Blue, of Fishers, Indiana, a daughter, Amanda Blue of Westlake, Ohio, a granddaughter, Ava Blue of Fishers, Indiana, his mother-in-law Juanita Searfoss, and his step-mother, Maxine Blue, both of South Bend, Indiana and a sister, Jill (Jim) Meuninck of Edwardsburg, Michigan. Jack's parents, Sam E. Blue, Mary Bulhand, and his step-father, Max Bulhand, preceded him in death. Other survivors include his brothers-in-law Steven (Cyndy) Searfoss and Scott (Deenee) Searfoss, his sisters-in-law Jodi (Jim) Kalka, Barb (Paul) Wills, and Diana Middleton, all of South Bend, Indiana. He was also beloved "Uncle Jack" to his many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Jack was a graduate of Washington High, South Bend, Indiana and Indiana University. He had been active in the Lydick Jaycees, the Masters Softball League and was an avid golfer and loved all things outdoors.

Friends may call at the DANIEL L. BERRY & DONALD MARTENS AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, 26691 Detroit Rd, Westlake on Wednesday, Oct. 20 from 4-7 PM. Additional visitation on FRIDAY, OCT. 22 and funeral services on Saturday, Oct. 23 will be held at St. Joseph Funeral Home in South Bend, IN. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, Hospice of St. Joseph County or the Ireland Cancer Center, Case Western Reserve Medical Center.
