SOUTH BEND - Frank A. Wasielewski, 73, passed away at 5:00 a.m. on August 1, 2011, in his home with family by his side. Frank was born on June 19, 1938, in South Bend, to the late Alex and Helen Wasielewski. On September 11, 1971, he married Sharon (Brewer), who survives along with their daughter, Pamela (Nick) Kruger of South Bend; and by his two brothers, Ted (Mary Jean) Wasielewski of South Bend and Rich (Diana) Wasielewski of Champlin, MN; and by many nieces and nephews.

Frank graduated from Washington High School in 1956.

He worked as a trade's craftsman in layout inspection at South Bend Stamping where he retired in 2000 after 31 years. He was a union leader in the Auto Workers Union Local 5 for 22 years, was on the United Way Executive Board of St. Joseph County, and was on the Business Development Committee. He enjoyed all Notre Dame sports and was an avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan. He was an avid fisherman and loved to be out on the lake in his boat, the "Jaws Hunter."

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, August 4, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 5, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to PNA Fisherman's Club. Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
