BARBARA  A. "BOBBIE" (BOROWSKI) SZUCH

March 31, 1936 - April 25, 2010
SOUTH BEND - Barbara Ann "Bobbie" (Borowski) Szuch, 74, of Glendale, AZ, formerly of South Bend, went with the angels on April 25, 2010, with her family by her side. Barbara was born in South Bend on March 31, 1936, to Walter and Clara Borowski.

She graduated in 1955 from Washington High School, went on to beauty college, and opened a salon on Main Street.

She taught dance at Arthur Murray Dance Studio, and was known to not be shy of the microphone, including singing with the Eddie Knight and Bill Henry bands. Twenty years ago she moved to Arizona to be closer to her sisters, and later retired from retail sales, including JC Penney, Osco Drug, and LS Ayres of South Bend.

She is survived by her children, Denise (Steve) Horvath and David Szuch of South Bend, Sherrie (Jim) Sollars of Vincennes, IN, and Michele (Antonio) Cross of Henderson, NV; grandchildren, Caleb Johnson of South Bend, Brittney Cato of Indiana, Anthony and Brandon Szuch of Vincennes, IN, and Karsten Cross of Henderson, NV; and had three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Rita Snyder and Loretta Catalino of Avondale, AZ; four nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and nephews; and her former husband, Fred Szuch of South Bend.

Her parents and a nephew preceded her in death.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 15th, in the chapel at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend, with Pastor Ed Vegh presiding. There is no visitation.
