March 6, 1945 ~ October 11, 2024 (age 79)
Robert A. Stewart of South Bend, IN was born on March 6,1945 to William W. Stewart and Frances Elaine Stewart. Bobby departed this life on Friday October 11, 2024, at his residence.
We bid farewell to Bobby a true beacon of light, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness. Bobby walked through life with a gentle strength, touching the lives of everyone he encountered with impeccable stylishness. His bright smile and jovial personality made the world a brighter place. A lover of family and friends, Bobby found beauty in life’s simple moments and encouraged us all to do the same. He enjoyed music, roller skating, fast cars, and a good cigar.
Bobby was a graduate from Washington High School, South Bend, IN and studied at Pasadena Community College, California. He began his occupational career as a precision metalist at Boeing Aircraft in Seattle WA and relocated to Northrup Grumman Aerospace in California. In retirement he worked at Walgreens bringing much joy and laugher to customers and staff.
He was a faithful beloved member and drummist of Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church, a member of the Brotherhood and an attendee of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. He also was member of the Indiana Chapter of Black Expo.
A loving caring, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He leaves behind a daughter Jovonne Brown, a son Ronald Stewart, three sisters Deborah (Taffie) Mallard, Jacquline Huntand Karen Jenkins, and a brother Michael (Cynthia) Stewart. Bobby has eight grandchildren, Keith Brown, Jr., Shanna Brown, Ulani Stewart, Azon Stewart, Peja Stewart, LavellStewart II, Brandon Jacobs, Marcé Stewart and six great-grandchildren, with a host of nieces and nephews.
Proceeding him in death was his parents William W. Stewart and Frances Elaine Stewart his son Lavell Stewart, his brother William (Terry) Stewart, Jr, and his nephew Terry Stewart.
