DENNIS J. KRING

SOUTH BEND - Dennis James Kring, 66, beloved husband of Barbara D. Kring, died suddenly on Wednesday, November 21, 2012. A native of South Bend, IN, Mr. Kring was a son of the late Melvin George and Marjorie Marie Colditz Kring. He was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army where he earned the M14 sharpshooter badge and expert badge for the M16.

Dennis attended Mt. Pleasant Elementary School, Muessel Elementary, graduating from S.B. Washington High School in 1964, where he was on the swim team.

He was a member of the First Brethren Church of Ardmore where he was active in youth choir, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Explorer Scouts.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara D. Kring; a daughter, Audra D. Miles (Bobby), Aiken; 2 sons, Todd D. Kring (Candee), Johnston, SC, & Brent R. Kring (Holley), Aiken; 3 grandchildren, Cole R. Kring, Adele R. Miles & Hannah C. Kring; 2 sisters, Joy Blake (Bob), Elkhart, & Wendy Jensen (Don), Bloomington, IN.

The family will receive friends from 11 AM to noon Monday at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home, followed by a service in the chapel at noon. The Revs. Ken McDonald and Robert Jackson will officiate. Interment will follow at Southlawn Cemetery with military honors. (Note: Due to allergies, the family respectfully requests no perfume or cologne at the service.)
