Michael J. Edstrom

SOUTH BEND Michael J. Edstrom, 65, of South Bend, passed away at 9:15 AM on Saturday, May 18th, in his residence after an extended illness. Michael was born on May 26, 1947, in South Bend, IN, to the late Edward and Isabelle Edstrom, and was a lifelong area resident.

Michael is survived by one daughter, Melissa (Steve) Yingling of Louisville, KY, one son, Shawn (Briana) Edstrom of Plymouth; one sister, Sharon (Dave) Berglund of Mishawaka; one brother, Kenneth (Rose) Edstrom of Granger; and four grandchildren, Alex Yingling, Styler Edstrom, Mackenzie Rain Edstrom and Jake Yingling.

Michael proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict. Michael enjoyed fishing, boating, remote control cars, and being with his grandchildren.

Per Michael's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no services or visitation. The family requests that all memorial contributions be made to Shawn Edstrom, 409 Lake Ave., Plymouth, IN 46563.

The HANLEY & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road State Road 23, handled arrangements and extends its deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Edstrom family.
