Donald R Varga Sr.
Oct. 1, 1930 – March 9, 2005 Donald R. Varga Sr., 74, of Cedar Crest Lane, Mishawaka, passed away in the evening on Wednesday, March 9th, in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. Donald was born to the late Francis and Josephine (Nowicki) Varga on October 1, 1930, in South Bend.
On August 2, 1956, he married Frances E. Dukes; they divorced in 1971 but remained good friends. Donald is survived by a son, Donald R. Varga Jr. of Edwardsburg, Michigan; and his daughter, Anne Varga of Niles, Michigan. He is also survived by his ex-wife, Frances Varga; three stepdaughters, Libby Homan of Niles, Michigan, Diane Strack of Sidney, Illinois, and Lola Shrumpf of Columbia City, Indiana; along with three step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Jeanne Schoonaert of South Bend; along with two nephews, Gary and Dean Schoonaert.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, March 12th, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. in the funeral chapel, with Fr. Robert Yast officiating. Burial is to follow at Mission Hills Cemetery, Niles, Michigan.
