Charlene D (Bernth) Arelt

Charlene D. Arelt, 59, passed away peacefully at 1:30 pm, on Monday, March 5, 2012, in her residence surrounded by her family. Charlene was born March 8, 1952, to Chris Bernth, and birth mother Myrtle Brendmill, and raised by stepmothers, Georgeen Bernth and Erma Bernth, who preceded her in death.

Charlene was also preceded by children, Dennis Michael and Steven Lee; brothers, Christian and Richard Bernth.

On September 11, 1971, Charlene married Edwin Arelt in Holy Family Catholic Church, who survives. Charlene is also survived by daughter, Angie Ann (Richard) Bisnauth of North Liberty; granddaughter, Autumn Graves of North Liberty, and one grandchild due in May; sister, Linda Gourley of Dowagiac, MI; brothers, Philip (Mable) Bernth of Granger, IN, and Felix Bernth of South Bend.

She worked at Derby Incorporated as a sealer for many years. Charlene was a member of the Crumstown Conservation Club, enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter and family, playing with her dogs, fishing, camping, and going to the Blue Chip, and most of all going to Florida with her husband.

Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm today, March 8, 2012, in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a funeral liturgy will begin at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 9, 2012.
