RONALD SZCZEPANSKI

Ronald Szczepanski Nov. 25, 1947 - Sept. 11, 2015 STEVENSVILLE - Ronald "Ron" Stephen Szczepanski, 67, of Stevensville, MI passed away unexpectedly of a bacterial organism on Friday, September 11, 2015 at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph. Ron was born November 25, 1947 in South Bend, IN to Ralph, Sr., and Irene (Kowalski) Szczepanski.

He graduated from South Bend Washington High School in 1965.

Ron served his country in the United States Navy from 1966 until 1972. He graduated from Purdue University earning a Bachelor's degree. He married the love of his life, Barbara Ann Rozkiewicz on August 11, 1973 at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in South Bend, IN. He was employed with Whirlpool Corporation from 1972 until his retirement in 2000.

Ron was a great man of many traits and abilities, and always willing to help the family. Ron volunteered in his parish community as well as the local catholic school. Ron was a loving and helpful father to Laura Allen and Raynell Szczepanski, and the most patient, and involved "Papa" to Matthew Allen, Kylie Althoff, Joshton Szczepanski, Stephen Althoff and Anthony Althoff. Ron had a passion for fishing, and Notre Dame. He valued education and stayed current in his interests by attending seminars throughout his life.

In addition to his wife, children and grandchildren, Ron is survived by his brothers, Ralph Eugene (Zita) Szczepanski and Dennis (Rhonda) Szczepanski; and 14 immediate nieces and nephews. Ron will be missed by all who loved him.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Larry Szczepanski.

A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 17, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph with Fr. Jim Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Lincoln Township Cemetery in Stevensville. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Monsignor Sears Scholarship Foundation in care of Lake Michigan Catholic Schools.
