Mary Ann (Linner) Barson
Mary Ann Barson, 84, residing in Mishawaka, passed away on October 24, 2023, surrounded by her family at the Ernestine M. Raclin House (Hospice) in Mishawaka, IN. She was born August 18, 1939, in South Bend, IN to the late Frank and Veronica (Kwasniewski) Linner and remained a lifelong area resident.
Mary Ann and Raymond Barson, Sr. were united in marriage on June 27, 1959. In addition to her loving husband of 64 years, she is survived by her three children, Deborah (Michael) Henke of Carol Stream, IL, Karen (Tom) Moore of Glen Ellyn, IL, and Ray (Jayn preceded in death 5/29/2023) Barson of South Bend, IN; and eight grandchildren, Matt (Hannah) Henke, Nick Henke, Mitchell (McKenzie Noltner) Henke, Sarah (Jared) Dechowitz, Katie Moore, Jack Moore, Alec Barson and Abbey Barson; as well as her sisters-in-law, Mary Linner of Elkhart, IN, and Patricia Baker of Mishawaka, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her in-laws, Louis and Velma Barson; her brothers, Frank R. Linner, Sr., and Robert Linner; and her brother-in-law, Dale Baker.
Mary Ann was a devoted homemaker, creating a welcoming haven for her family and friends. Her home was a testament to her love of cooking and gardening, passions that she nurtured with the same dedication and commitment she gave to her family. Mary Ann was a beacon of light in the lives of those who knew her, her spirit forever etched in the hearts of those she loved.
She was a devout member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, her faith the cornerstone of her life, a testament to the power of prayer and the enduring strength of belief. Mary Ann was a woman of grace and dignity, a gentle soul whose love knew no bounds.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger, IN 46530. Graveside services will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00-7:00 pm on Monday, October 30, 2023, in the Palmer Funeral Home – Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN 46635.
