Dolores G. (Herma) Kaczorowski

Dolores G. Kaczorowski passed away in her sleep at home following a brief illness on February 25, 2024. Dolores was born to the late Joseph and Alice Herma on January 26, 1943. She graduated from Washington High School in 1961.

On August 17, 1963, she married Daniel Kaczorowski. Together, they had six children Douglas (Tina), David (Amy), Deborah (Bud) Blower, Deron (Amie), Drew, and Don (Alisa).

Dolores took pride in raising her children full time before entering the work force. Over the years, Dolores held positions at various companies including 1st Source Bank, South Bend Community School Corporation, South Bend Controls and St. Joseph Funeral Home.

Dolores was a devout Catholic and was active in Corpus Christi parish while her children were growing up. She later joined, and became an active member of, St. Casimir parish, singing in the choir amongst other activities. As a testament to her faith, Dolores joined the Secular Franciscan Order later in life.

This past August Dan and Dolores celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. She adored and cherished her loving husband and best friend, Dan. They were proud of their children, grandchildren and the legacy that they grew together.

Dolores enjoyed traveling to new places, as well as family vacations and cruising with Dan. She always cherished the adventures they shared together, especially to central Florida and Disney World. Dolores was quite a simple person and always considered others around her before her needs. She took pleasure in her Hummel collection and looked forward to the ones Dan would surprise her with on special occasions.

In addition to her children, Dolores leaves behind 10 grandchildren- Steven (Marie), Nick (Natalie), Mary, Elizabeth (fiancé Evan), Andrew, Melody and Paige (Blower), Oliver, Georgia, and Charlie plus 4 great-grandchildren – Lucy, James, Luna, and Leif. She is also survived by her brother Tom (Deane) Herma and sister-in-law Lorie Rauch, along with many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at St. Joseph Funeral home located at 824 South Mayflower RD, South Bend IN 46619 where a rosary will be prayed at 5:00pm. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00am Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at St. Casimir Catholic church located at 1302 W Dunham St, South Bend, IN 46619. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
