SOUTH BEND - Mr. Courtney Allan Rowell, 33, went to be with the Lord on May 20, 2009, in Memorial Hospital. He was born on February 8, 1976, in South Bend, Indiana, to the union of Ozie McCollough and Chester "Bobby" Rowell. Courtney was raised in a strong Christian faith environment under the guidance of his mother. At an early age he gave his life to Christ, and was baptized by Rev. Hardy Williams of Mount Olive Baptist Church.

After graduating form Washington High School in 1994, he was employed by AM General and continued his education at Indiana University-South Bend. Courtney received many offers to model, but music was his first love. Other than his family, Courtney loved to write and produce music. At the time of his death, he was in the process of producing his second CD.

Courtney leaves to mourn his mother, Ozie (Terrence) McCollough; his father, Chester (Patricia) Rowell; his only brother, Andre Antoine McCollough, all of South Bend, Indiana; sister, Tawandra Rowell of Maryland. He is also survived by four children, Coursha Allondra Rowell, Courtney Allan Rowell II, Cymphanie Nicole Rowell (mother-Stephanie Johnson) and Jadon Courtland Grundy (mother-Karma Grundy) of South Bend. He is also survived by maternal grandmother, Irene McCollough and Robert "Bob" Forrest Sr., a significant father figure. Nieces, Tearria "Niecy Boo" McCollough" and Andrea McCollough; special aunts, Linda (Howard) Daniel, Michigan City, IN, Dianne McCollough-Travis, Chicago, IL, Princella McCollough and Montina McCollough, both of South Bend, IN, and Mauya (Alton) Stover, Indianapolis. Special uncles, Russell (Roz) McCollough, Fredrick, MD, Wendell McCollough, Terre Haute, IN, Spencer Rowell, Alex Rowell, Terry Rowell and Darryl Rowell, all of South Bend. A special friend, Tiana Robinson, and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Alexander and Sarah Rowell; maternal grandfather, James McCollough; great-grandmother, Princella Rucker; two uncles, Antoine McCollough and Clinton McCollough; and a special cousin, Shanna Dianne McCollough

Funeral services for Mr. Courtney Allan Rowell will be held at noon on Friday, May 29th, in Pentecostal Cathedral Church of God in Christ, with burial following at Fairview Cemetery. Viewing will take place one hour prior to services in the church.
