December 15, 1985 ~ March 28, 2025 (age 39)
Rachel was born on December 15, 1985, to Lori Nothstine and Paul E. Metz at Parkview in Plymouth, IN. Rachel passed away unexpectedly on March 28, 2025, at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center.
Rachel is survived by her fiancé Steven Guthrie, her dogs: Lily, Daisy, Nugget, Zoey, Rocky, Toby and her cats and the birds. She is also survived by her mother, her three sisters Amanda Metz of South Bend, IN, Stefanie (Jeff) Surpas of Fishers, IN, Meredith (Rob) Sheehan of Mishawaka, IN and one brother Michael (Vickie) Nothstine of Bremen, IN one niece Isabella Sheehan and five nephews; Zachery Surpas, Vincent Sheehan, Alex Surpas, Dean Sheehan, and Masen Surpas. And one paternal grandmother Kay Nothstine.
Rachel was preceded in death by her maternal Grandmother Nancy Anderson, her maternal Grandfather Thomas Williams and paternal grandfather Kenneth Nothstine.
Rachel loved helping out animals that needed a good home. She loved Steven and her family. Rachel helped anyone she could. She loved Nightmare Before Christmas. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Viewing will be from 12pm to 2pm, on Friday, April 4, 2025, in Palmer Funeral Homes – River Park Chapel 2528 Mishawaka Ave, South Bend, IN 46615. Funeral Service will start at 2pm in the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking to make donations to the Kidney Foundation or IGA NEPHROPATHY FOUNDATION.
