Shirley A. Jacobs, age 57, of Altgeld Street, South Bend, died at 9:08 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, 1996, in St. Joseph's Medical Center. She was born Jan. 29, 1939, in South Bend and was a lifelong resident. In 1992, in South Bend, as Shirley Snyder, she married Bennie Jacobs. He survives along with a daughter, Rev. Mindy Snyder of Niles, Mich.; three grandchildren; and a brother, Bob Williamson of South Bend.

Shirley was a member of the First Methodist Church of South Bend. She had retired from Toro-Wheelhorse Inc. where she was a receptionist.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, in the 14brest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood Dr. Elwood Smith of First Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to the American Cancer Society.
