Robert "Bob" Allen Sparks

Robert Allen “Bob” Sparks, 63, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

Bob was born January 1, 1963, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Delmar and Shirley “Buck” Sparks.  He graduated from South Bend Washington High School in 1981.  A lifelong South Bend resident, he was currently employed with Whiteford Kenworth as a delivery driver.

Bob was known for perfecting their mother’s chicken and noodles recipe. It was a must at every family gathering.  Bob also took loving care of his mother, always looking out for her and making sure she was taken care of.  Bob was an animal lover at heart and had a special place in his heart for his beloved dogs, including Bobo and Gracie. He also cherished the time he spent at his late grandfather’s farm, where some of his favorite memories were made fishing at the lake and enjoying the simple pleasures of country life.  Family was important to Bob.  

Bob is survived by his sister, Chrislin Balderas; his brothers, Rich (Debbie) Sparks and Don (Nancy) Sparks; better half, Cindy Samo; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at Palmer Funeral Home – Welsheimer North Chapel, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN 46635. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bob’s honor may be given to Pet Refuge, Inc., 4626 S. Burnett Dr., South Bend, IN 46614 or Reins of Life, 55200 Quince Rd., South Bend, IN 46619.
