Gregory M. Galloway Sr.

Gregory Martin Galloway Sr was born on July 4, 1962, to the parents of Andrew and Josephine Galloway in Chicago, Illinois.

Gregory was baptized at an early age in King’s Lake Indiana where he and his family attended church. Gregory also became a member of Saint Peter’s Rock Missionary Baptist Church in South Bend, Indiana.

Gregory graduated from Washington High School in 1980; he joined the United States Army that same year. He was a great aviation mechanic. He worked on all types of airplanes and he received many medals. He was honorably discharged; while serving in the military he met Brenda Hatten and was united in holy matrimony on September 30, 1983. Two children were born from that union: Tyesha and Gregory Galloway Jr.

Gregory worked for several companies; he especially enjoyed working at Elkhart Brass in Elkhart, Indiana. He enjoyed riding horses and working on cars; he was a great mechanic. He was the life of any family gathering and he loved his family. Gregory was loved and will be missed by his entire family.

On December 12, 2021, Gregory’s life ended. He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Galloway Sr.; his brother, Charles Joseph Galloway Sr.; also all his grandparents.

Gregory leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Brenda Galloway; a daughter, Tyesha M. Galloway; a son, Gregory M. Galloway Jr.; a grandson, Javontae; and granddaughter, Deneshea Galloway all of Chicago Heights, Illinois; his mother, Josephine Galloway of South Bend, Indiana; mother-in-law, Cleo Deering; father-in-law, Steve Hooks both of Chicago Heights, Illinois; three brothers: Ronnie Christopher Galloway, Charles Joseph Galloway Jr. and “my little brother,” Andrew Galloway Jr. all of South Bend, Indiana; one sister, Andrea M. Galloway of Owing Mills, Maryland; two sisters-in-law: Gwendolyn Hooks of Park Forest, Illinois and Jeanette Hooks of Ford Heights, Illinois; one brother-in-law, Craig Hatten of Riverdale, Illinois; along with a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins other relatives and friends.
