Ja'Marion J. Watson

Ja’Marion Jermaine Watson, affectionately known as “Marion,” was born on October 23, 2003, in South Bend, Indiana, to Jaymaya Watson and Jaron Groves Sr. Tragically, he passed away at the age of 21 on July 6, 2025, at Memorial Hospital. Ja’Marion was a student at South Bend Community School & attended Washington High School. He worked in general labor.
Ja’Marion was a remarkable and beloved individual who loved making people laugh and was a joy to be around. He always had a big smile on his face whenever you saw him.
Ja’Marion cherished spending time with his family and friends, capturing precious moments and creating unforgettable memories. Even though he had no type of rhythm, he loved dancing.
Known for his outspoken nature, Ja’Marion would say whatever came to mind. He was deeply loved by his family and friends, and their lives will be filled with a void in his absence.
Ja’Marion leaves to cherish his mother, Jaymaya Watson, of South Bend, IN. He is survived by four sisters: Ja’Riyah Watson, JaRonna Groves, JaRenna Groves, and Arabia Ross, all of South Bend, IN. He is also survived by two brothers: Jaron Groves Jr. and Daron Groves, both of whom are from South Bend, IN. His grandparents are Denise Henderson “Prissy”and Dorothy Fountain “Tina.” His uncles are Perry Watson Jr., Devon Groves, and Daniel Groves Jr., all of South Bend, IN. Auntie; Danielle Fountain from South Bend, IN. His favorite cousin Perry Watson III (Polo). He also has a special niece and nephew, Jurní and Jayvon Johnson. His special friends are Desmond Smith and Destefano Richardson. He is also surrounded by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and many more.
Ja’Marion was preceded in death by his father, Jaron Jermaine Groves Sr. “Kukay”, as well as his grandfather, Daniel Groves Sr. and Perry Watson Sr. His great grandparents; Martin “Duck” and Helen L Henderson, Jesse and Mary Watson, J.D. and JoElla Groves. His uncle Delano Groves, and a special friend named Amarion Kirk “Brazy.”
Ja'Marion Watson's life was a beautiful testament to the power of love, loyalty, and laughter. His memory will forever be treasured by his family, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
