Deamon Lewis Harges Sr

SOUTH BEND - Mr. Deamon Lewis Harges Sr., 58, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, who resided on Alonzo Watson Drive, South Bend, Indiana, passed away at 5:30 a.m. on Friday, July 16, 2010, in the Elkhart Rehabilitation Center, Elkhart, IN, following a brief illness.
Deamon was born to the union of Esau and Mary Lee (Love) Harges on March 27, 1952, in South Bend, Indiana, who both preceded him in death. He graduated from Washington High School in 1971. He worked at AM General from 1972 until 1988, then he worked at Carriage House II, ten years as a groundskeeper and his last job he worked two years as a driver's helper for St. Vincent DePaul. He was a former member of Laymen Chapel Church. Mr. Harges loved playing his guitar and riding his bike. He was very athletic; a very loving father who was kind-hearted.
Deamon was preceded in death by his parents, Esau Harges and Mary Lee Love Harges. Survivors left to cherish his loving memory include his daughter, Barbara Harges; three sons, Deamon Alex (Janeen) Harges Jr., both of Indianapolis, Indiana, Andy Allen (Jacinta) Harges of Pensacola, Florida, and Terrance Coleman of South Bend; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; three sisters, Doris Strachan of Chicago, Illinois, Ida Jane Harges of South Bend and Barbara Jean Harges of Bronx, New York; one brother, Gregory Allen Harges Sr. of South Bend; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
