Stanley M. Adamczak

Stanley M. Adamczak, 72, of 1984 East Warren Woods Road, Buchanan, Mich., died of natural causes on Monday, Aug. 19, in Silverbrook Manor, Niles, Mich. He was born on July 8, 1930, in South Bend, Ind., where he spent most of his adult life until he moved to Buchanan in 1980.

On May 25, 1974, Stanley married Helen Casto of Niles, who preceded him in death in 1999. He was also preceded in death by his father, Frank Joseph Adamczak in December 1990.

Stanley was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church of South Bend, and participated in several of the men's social clubs at the church.

Stanley graduated from Washington High School in 1948, served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1943. He was employed at South Bend Toy until it closed, then worked various jobs including Seven Trees Security of Niles and Sonny's Lounge in Buchanan until his retirement in 1995.

He is survived by three sisters, Hilda Davenport and Joan Banicki of Leesburg, Fla., and Cathryn Murphy of Warminster, Pa.; six stepchildren, Mary Ann Riley, Dennis and Don Casto of Buchanan, Jerry Casto of Union, Mich., and Ray Casto and Betty Sarver of Florida. He is also survived by three nieces, three nephews, 11 step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

At Stanley's request, there will be no visitation or services. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Arrangements entrusted to the Hoven Funeral Home.
