Ivan Lee Donaldson
March 1, 1958 ~ June 25, 2024 (age 66)
Ivan Lee Donaldson, 66, of South Bend, Indiana, transitioned this earthly life on June 25, 2024, at Beacon Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 1, 1958, to the union of Johnnie III and Izola (Gates) Donaldson.
Ivan accepted Christ at the age of 12, under the leadership of Reverend Willie V. Williams, at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Throughout life, he continued to develop and value his relationship with the Lord. He later joined Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Rickardo Taylor, Sr.Ivan attended Harrison Elementary and Washington High School; where he was a proud panther and devoted athlete, class of 1976. In 1981, Ivan furthered his education at Atlanta Area Technical College, earning credentials to become an electrician at premium hotels such as Westin and Renaissance. Having the opportunity to work as an electrician in Atlanta, Detroit, and Houston, provided Ivan with experience and expertise; which qualified him to be an employee of Honeywell Aerospace for over 20 years.
Ivan leaves to cherish his memories, four children, Arenthous (Angela) Frazier of Lancaster, Ohio; Reasha (Bashir) Ly of South Bend, Indiana; Kendall (Jesse) Carey of Grosse Pointe, Michigan, and Joshua Donaldson also of South Bend; three grandchildren, Jermaine Gregory Dickens, Mya McMillen, and Trinity Harrison; four sisters, Helen (William) Harris, Ruth (David) Blake, Gail Woodfork, and Teresa Donaldson, all of South Bend, three brothers, Joe (Crystal) Donaldson also of South Bend, William (Lavern) Donaldson of Detroit, Michigan, and Kenneth (Sharon) Donaldson of Cincinnati, Ohio, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and close friends.
Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, as well as four brothers, James, Jerry, Paul, and Tyrone; one sister, Sheila, and a nephew, Jarvis Donaldson.
Ivan undoubtedly had a strong work ethic, enjoyed challenging conversations, gathering for family reunions, and barbecuing with his brothers. He was an avid sports fan, particularly the University of Michigan Wolverines! Ivan will truly be missed and fondly remembered!
