In Memory
Judith Kay (Breveard) Perry
August 29, 1942 ~ April 7, 2024 81 Years Old
Judith Kay Perry, a beacon of kindness and a cherished soul, completed her earthly journey on April 7, 2024, in her hometown of South Bend, where she first graced the world with her presence on August 26, 1942. Born to the late Thomas and Alberta (Richardson) Breveard, Judith's life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and the joy found in simple pleasures.
Judith's heart was a wellspring of love that overflowed to her family. She was a devoted partner to her late husbands, Lewis E. Macon and Sam Perry, whose memories she held close to her heart. Her sister, Eileen Wade, and brothers, Kenneth Thomas and Raymond Breveard, who predeceased her, shared in her life's story. Her legacy continues through her loving daughter, Theresa J. Jones of Arkansas; her sons, Lewis Macon Jr. of South Bend and Dane Macon of Arizona; her adoring sister, Linda Rodgers of Texas; her 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom were the pride and joy of her life.
A proud graduate of Washington High School, Judith's passion for education led her to a fulfilling career with the South Bend Community School Corp, where she served as a Paraprofessional for 14 years. Her dedication to nurturing young minds was evident in every interaction, leaving an indelible mark on countless lives.
Judith's zest for life shone brightly through her hobbies. She was an avid garage sale enthusiast, always on the lookout for hidden treasures and the next great find. Her love for sewing was more than a pastime; it was an expression of her creativity and a way to share her warmth with others. As a faithful member of St. Paul's Missionary Baptist Church, Judith's spiritual life was a cornerstone of her existence, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her.
To know Judith was to know kindness incarnate. She approached every person and every situation with a gentle spirit and a generous heart. Her presence was a comfort, her smile a beacon of hope, and her words a source of wisdom. Judith's life was a masterclass in compassion, teaching us that the most profound impacts are often made in quiet moments and through simple acts of love.
In keeping with her wishes, the family will be holding a private Celebration of Life. Palmer Funeral Home – West Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
