Camille Mamira Skubiszewski (Desimone)

Camille M “Candy” (Skubiszewski) Desimone

July 3, 1935-March 5, 2018

Osceola Camille "Candy" M. Desimone, 82, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 5, 2018 surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Candy was also a two time cancer survivor, which was a tribute to her tenacious spirit.

Candy was born on July 3, 1935 in South Bend to Stanley and Helen (Podlas) Skubiszewski. She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Joseph Cramer and brother, Paul Skubiszewski.

On April 14, 1956 in South Bend she married the love of her life, Lawrence "Larry" Desimone, who was her devoted caregiver for the past three years. Surviving are her husband, Larry; children, Cynthia (Michael) Cramer of Mishawaka, Angela (Brian) Condon of Livonia, MI; Gino (Jan) Desimone of Granger; grandchildren, Michael (Jaymie) Cramer, Jacob (Julia) Cramer, Hannah (Jake) Hueni, Andrew Desimone, Angela (James) Byars, Anna Desimone, Rachel (Kevin) James and Jessica (Joshua) Buck, granddaughter-in-law, Jodi (Joseph preceding) Cramer-Berry; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Suzanne Carr of Las Vegas, NV and brother, Francis Skubiszewski of South Bend.

Candy was a Surgical Assistant for Dr. Tawadros for 11 ½ years (a job she loved dearly). She was a faithful member of New Life Church. She had a heart filled with love for her Savior and constantly lived her life to serve others. Candy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. At all her grandchildren's events, she was their greatest cheerleader. Candy and Larry traveled to different parts of the country, but her favorite place was at home with her husband surrounded by her family.

She will be dearly missed by family and friends. Our deepest appreciation and love to the incredible nurses and doctors at Heartland Hospice. There are no words to describe what their tender loving care for the past three years meant to Candy and our family.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 8 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be on Friday, 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior at New Life Church, Osceola. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Dr. Michael A. Cramer and Pastor Michael L. Cramer. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Life Church, 11593 McKinley Hwy East, Osceola, IN 46561.
