John Joseph Jaronik

SOUTH BEND — John J. Jaronik, 77, passed away at 4:05 pm Sunday, August 26, 2012, in Hospice House of South Bend. John was born January 24, 1935, in South Bend, to the late John R.and Sarah (Niespodziany) Jaronik. John was also preceded in death by siblings, Robert and Louis Jaronik, Jane Rozanski, Gerry Swartz and Bernadine Magill.
John is survived by sisters, Loretta (Doug) Merrill of South Bend and Diane (Craig) Dudeck of LaPorte; brother, Alvin Jaronik of Phoenix; and several nieces and nephews.
John honorably served his country in the United States Army. John was a very devout Catholic and was a parishioner of Holy Family Parish. He retired from Communication Test Design in 2002.
John loved gardening and working on his yard. He was a very caring and loving man who took care of his brothers and sisters, and loved to spend time with the family on holidays. He was an avid jitter bug dancer who could dance your socks off. John loved animals, especially dogs; he had a special place in his heart for his pal, “Major.”
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, August 30, 2012, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Friday, August 31, 2012, in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
